Located just 25 miles SE of Bismarck N.D., the historic Black Leg Ranch is home to both cattle and buffalo. Black Leg Ranch Meats will supply you with healthy grass finished beef and bison for an exceptional eating experience.

Black Leg Ranch has a variety of options to meet your event needs. The Copper Jewell Barn, our three on site lodges, and the Black Leg Brewery, our dedicated event team will be able to customize your experience accordingly while providing unique and personal touches that traditional venues can’t duplicate.

If hunting and wildlife gets you excited, the ranch is home to Rolling Plains Adventures, a full-service hunting/outfitting operation. Many trophy bucks have been tagged as well as great pheasant and waterfowl adventures.

George Doan, the 9th Generation, came down from Canada and in 1882 homesteaded in Dakota territory becoming the first Doan generation on the ranch. 6 generations later, Black Leg Ranch is home to over 17000 acres including buffalo wallows, the ghost town of Brittin, abandoned farmsteads, post office foundation, quicksand,1800’s wagon trails, abandoned railroads and trestles, native American teepee rings and artifacts and much more.
